The founders of the company were Mafat Patel and Tulsi Patel. Mafat completed his MBA from Indiana University in 1968. After finishing his degree, he went to Chicago for work. After a couple of years, he, alongside his brother Tulsi opened the first store in 1974. The store was operated by Tulsi and his wife Aruna and Mafat himself. Right now, there are 57 different stores in different locations. In 2017, the business went to $140 million.
