Cumberland Farms History

Known as Cumby’s to the locals of New York and New England, the Cumberland Farms is a chain of retail stores that started back in 1938. It is based in Westborough, Massachusetts. The farm started from a single cow farm that Vasilios and Aphrodite Haseotes purchased in 1938. Later, they opened a dairy store in Bellingham.

But, the first convenience store they opened was in the northwestern US in 1962. In 1993, the company became a limited partner of Gulf Oil, and in 2016, it sold its complete holding to Gulf Oil. They also closed several of their stores across Florida. According to 2019 reports, the UK-based EG Group announced purchasing the Cumberland Farms.

According to LinkedIn, the company has a strength of 5001 to 10000 employees. Their official website also calls for more people to join their chain of stores. Their products are mainly coffee, snacks, and different brands of snacks they sell at Cumberland firms.

Jake Smith

you have a woman that works there her name is Marie, she usually works at night, I just want to say that every time I see her she is very very busy, she’s always doing something, today I pulled in and she was sweeping all the garbage out of the parking lot two days ago she was changing all the garbage, doesn’t matter what day it is she’s constantly doing something that’s what I love about that place, not only is she a great worker but she’s also a great people person, she treat everybody with such respect,I just want to let you know that you have a great worker, we love having you there Marie…

Alaska Paramo

Went to purchase a 12 pack of modelo with my ID and was not allowed to purchase it because they would not accept an ID that was not scannable even though the ID is government issued and valid in the US. Not upset with employees, however I was extremely disappointed with Cumberland’s policy. As a Mexican Citizen living in the US, who works his ass off, I will no longer purchase anything from your company. Cumberland farms discriminates against immigrants.#boycott cumberland farms.
